How to overcome awkwardness and shyness around a girl?

She doesnt have facebook, i dont have her number, and im not afraid of rejection either, but i feel kind of uncomfortable around her, she isn't exactly the super sweet and happy type of girl. when i talk to her i feel quite intimidated. ive always been like this with girls, but i really need to overcome this. any suggestions?
