I really like this guy but i cant flirt when hes so cofident! help?

so i really like this guy we are both in eighth grade and we only have study hall together anyway hes so cute and his confidence kinda intimidates me i guess i mean im very comfortable around guys and im very out going and confident but he is just so hard to flirt with because when he talks to me or flirts (hes very flirty) idk i cant flirt back because i feel caught off guard what should i do???
