Help me please, before I leave!?

Okay so last night at a sleepover my friends were All talking about boyfriends and who asked them out and What guys they have been texting recently. And I felt left out because nobody ever asked me out and I don't really talk to any guys. I've been told I'm pretty and that I have this charm. However no guy has shown like real interesnt in me in like dating or being friends. Somebody said that I am intimidating to guy and that they are afraid of rejection but I just want like guy friends. Any help? And I'm shy so I don't know how to start a conversation with a gut I don't know. Please help. :)
