Is Karo Corn Syrup good to give to newborn baby birds?

Alright, well what happened is that my neighbor had a, what looked like to be, newborn baby bird fall out of its nest. It has no Feathers and its eyes aren't opened yet. We know to feed it worms and keep it warm and all so we don't need to worry about that. But, someone told her to give only a drop or two of Karo Corn Syrup to the little thing with an eye dropper. Although, it was just some random lady from a yard sale who told her that. So, she is unsure. So, I told my neighbor I'd ask on here where I can get live responses on what she should do. If you can help, thanks a bunch. (:
